The content of this course includes pronunciation, speaking skills, listening practice, and reading and writing. Upon completion of this course, students should have acquired essential grammar, a basic vocabulary, Hiragana, Katakana and some basic Kanji, and be able to use Japanese to communicate in everyday simple and practical situations. The focus is on situations directly related to the student’s activities and surrounding environment. This course also includes extracurricular activities aimed at deepening the participants’ understanding of Japanese society and culture.
Duration : 16 weeks, 3 lessons (1 hour session)/week
A continuation of Basic Japanese 1. The content of this course includes pronunciation, speaking skills, listening practice, and reading and writing. Upon completion of this course, students should have acquired essential grammar and be able to use Japanese to communicate in everyday simple and practical situations. The focus is on situations directly related to the student’s activities and surrounding environment. This course also includes extracurricular activities aimed at deepening the participants’ understanding of Japanese society and culture. Additionally, the examinations will take place at the end of each semester and ongoing quizzes at the end of each chapter.
Duration : 16 weeks (2 semesters), 2 lessons (90 min session)/week
A continuation of Basic Japanese 2. This course is focused on improving participants’ Japanese ability to a level where they can use it confidently in both daily life and in work-related situations. They will learn more complex vocabulary, expressions and sentence structures for both formal and less formal situations. Additionally, the examinations will take place at the end of each semester and ongoing quizzes at the end of each chapter.
Duration : 16 weeks, 1 lesson (90 min session)/week
Designed for those who have mastered the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Aims at establishing a solid base for students to fully utilize Japanese in social as well as casual contexts. In order to develop students’ speaking and listening skills, mainly authentic materials requested by students will be provided. Therefore, you will be provided the lessons in which you are able to learn your interests.
